In the year that marks the centenary of radio in Spain, the organisation of the Ondas Awards, instituted by EAJ-1, Radio Barcelona, wishes to recognise the work carried out by the hundreds of radio stations that, throughout the length and breadth of the country, and thanks to their professionals, have been able to tune in to reality and understand the cultural and technological challenges at all times.

Today, radio is a consolidated medium that, with imagination and passion, adapts like few others to new scenarios and audiences and remains the most credible medium. It performs an irreplaceable social function of accompanying millions of people through universal and free access to information, culture and entertainment.
