In the context of maximum vulnerability and instability in the that we find ourselves, live music is suffering an extremely serious situation that is having a drastic impact on an entire sector that brings together workers,
companies, organizations and associations that total more than 700,000 professionals, and that alone generates 3.2% of the GDP in
Spain.
This common voice, which in an apolitical and neutral way has come out
to the streets, dyeing buildings and public spaces red in several countries, brings together countless groups that have been silenced in this crisis, and affects a society that has been deprived of musical events that are part
fundamental of the social life of all.
From large festivals, to patron saint festivities, to tours and concerts, in halls or large venues, by artists of all styles, they have disappeared from our lives; and this award for silence aims to raise a voice so that all of society can hear it loudly and clearly.
For the substantive and necessary awareness and visibility of this problem, which requires an immediate solution for the survival of music.
